Technical Design
The three projects in this section all required the use of technical engineering skills to complete the design. The projects feature the combined use of electronics, various fabrication techniques, and a multidude of computer programs.
Model Rocketry
All rocketry work was completed for participation in the NASA Student Launch Initiative, which requires a design team to build and construct a rocket designed to fly to a pecified altitude. I designed and constructed specific subsystems including the payload door & enclosure and the avionics bay.

This case was designed for use on an Apple iPhone 4. In order to be printed on the Stratasys Objet350, the phone case model was generated in NX 9.5. Through several iterations of material choices and model geometries, a well fitting and durable case was developed.

Three different sensors were developed by modifying exisiting laboratory setups. A thermometer, a wheel encoder, and a strain gauge were all calibrated and adapted to complete a specific function using an nScope circuit board and MATLAB programming.
